Nice to meet you. I’m Danielle.
Danielle has always appreciated using movement as a tool for well-being. Her undergraduate degree was in Therapeutic Recreation, and she then went on to pursue her Masters in Physical Therapy. Danielle currently works as a Registered Physiotherapist and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy and has rooted her practice in the principles of Pilates and uses movement as physical therapy, especially in the women’s health and athletic spheres of rehab.
Her personal Pilates practice came to the forefront after the birth of her daughter where she used Pilates to heal her body and actually became even stronger and more pain-free than she was before pregnancy. This experience made her value the importance of Pilates and its principles as not only a form of exercise, but as a therapeutic intervention, an opportunity to learn to move better and build a solid foundation for longevity in physical fitness.
She owns a multidisciplinary clinic Flow Physio + Wellness in Bowmanville, Ontario alongside her husband, Dr. David DC. Danielle has done extensive training in pelvic health therapy, prenatal and postnatal rehabilitation, strength & conditioning coaching certifications, pre and postnatal fitness, and Mat and Reformer Pilates teacher training.
When she’s not working, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family at the cottage, running with her run club Clarington Run Club or taking a Pilates class in her home gym.
Danielle is so excited to share her insights as a physiotherapist to help her Mat Pilates students with the anatomical considerations and cueing, modifications for special populations and support others in building their Pilates business. Her work as a Pilates instructor and teacher trainer is inspired by her knowledge of the human body and of how injury and pain exist in our bodies. She knows that movement is key for healing and longevity and she is excited to certify Pilates instructors so that they can also share their knowledge and exercise guidance in their classes one day!
